Welcome to the home page for the Undergraduate Office of the Mathematics Department at the Pennsylvania State University. Our staff is here to serve you in any way that we can.
The undergraduate program in mathematics offers two separate degree programs: a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in mathematics. Within the B.S. program, there are six different options: Actuarial Mathematics, Applied and Industrial Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, General Mathematics, Graduate Study, and Systems Analysis. For more information on each of these, as well as a variety of other facts about our undergraduate program, please see our Math Major page
The links on the left side of the screen can be used to obtain additional information about our program.
Speaking With a Math Advisor:
Students may either schedule an appointment or come to walk-in advising hours (during Fall and Spring semesters) to speak to their advisor. Walk Ins are different during Finals Week. Phone appointments can be made if the student is not on campus. To schedule an appointment with a mathematics advisor, please call the Undergraduate Mathematics Office at 814-865-7528 or go to Starfish.
Walk-in appointments are 15 minute appointments intended to help students with brief scheduling questions, drop/add issues, course substitutions requests, and academic requirement report questions. A longer scheduled appointment should be made for schedule planning, change-of-major, concurrent majors and other specific issues.
