Introduction to Games and Repeated Games - Modeling Active Learning in a Seminar Setting
Speaker: Andrew Belmonte^ and Victor Brunsden*, ^PSU University Park, *PSU Altoona
Abstract: While active learning and associated metacognitive techniques have been shown to enhance student learning gains in the classroom, most university research seminars continues to operate following the standard "sage on the stage" approach. In this talk, we will explore the implementation of active learning other pedagogical techniques in the setting of a mathematics seminar. The topics to be presented include an introduction to classical game theory, the dynamics of repeated games, and a discussion of mixed strategy Nash equilibria and repeated game strategies in terms of random processes.
