Symbolic Dynamics for Nonuniformly Hyperbolic Systems
Speaker: Nawaf Alansari,
Abstract: Markov partitions is a powerful tool in the study of Hyperbolic Systems, they allow us to represent the system symbolically and deduce many ergodic properties. The first extensive study of these partitions was done by Bowen on Axiom A systems, where he used these partitions to construct and study Equilibrium measures. In this talk, we will see some recent development in this direction for systems exhibiting non Uniform hyperbolic behavior. we will mainly talk about the work of Sarig on Symbolic Dynamics if Surface diffeomorphisms with positive entropy.
