Sequences in Partitions
Speaker: George Andrews, Penn State University
Abstract: Some years ago, MacMahon's study of partitions without sequences (Combinatory Analysis, Vol. 2, Section VII, Chapter IV) was extended to partitions with short sequences (Proc. Nat. Acad. Sci., 102(2005), 4666-4671). Subsequently, it has been found that further restrictions (such as parity considerations) can be imposed on the allowable sequences. I shall discuss related theorems and their connection to classical results.
