Blenders and Robust Transitivity
Speaker: Nawaf Alansari, Penn State
Abstract: Blenders are dynamically defined invariant hyperbolic sets, which due to their special geometry force topologically thin sets to intersect in a robust way. In this talk, we will introduce blenders as they were defined in 1996 by Bonatti and Diaz, and we will see how they can be used to construct non-hyperbolic diffeomorphisms that are robustly transitive.
