Stability conditions for restrictions of vector bundles
Speaker: John Kopper, UIC
Abstract: A stable vector bundle on a projective variety need not remain stable when restricted to a subvariety. In this talk we describe sufficient criteria for such a bundle to remain stable, improving results of Mehta-Ramanthan, Flenner, Bogomolov, and others. The result is classical, but the proof uses modern techniques involving stability conditions for derived categories. This is joint work with Soheyla Feyzbakhsh.
