Problems connected to ergodic theory and dynamics
Speaker: Manfred Denker, Penn State
Abstract: I shall present 3 problems which are connected to my research interests: weak convergence of probability measures, boundary theory for Markov chains and dimension theory. I will explain the background of the problems and connect them to questions in ergodic theory and dynamics. More precisely, I shall discuss the Ibragimov conjecture, the boundary representation of Julia sets for rational functions, and the continuity of Hausdorff dimension of fibers of complex polynomial skew products.
