Abstract: C*-algebras are useful tools in non-commutative geometry. In particular I worked with real C*-algebras since they can be used to obtain results about manifolds. E-theory is an invariant of C*-algebras and in particular is a bivariant functor from the category of C*-algebras and *-homomorphisms to the category of abelian groups and group homomorphisms. In this talk I will detail a proof of Bott periodicity of E-theory for real and graded C*-algebras. This proof is a generalisation of a proof by Guentner-Higson and includes a definition of the Bott map itself and does not rely on categorical notions.
