Abstract: Mahler (1932) classified real numbers x according to the accuracy with which non-zero integer polynomials, evaluated at x, approach 0. There are four categories, which Mahler termed A-, S-, T-, and U-numbers, respectively. In this talk, I will present the construction of T-numbers due to Schmidt.
