On algebraic operations on loops induced from Poisson structure of the moduli stack of local systems

Abstract: In this talk I will review the Goldman bracket of loops coming from the Poisson algebra of functions on the moduli stack of flat connections that lead to Chas and Sullivan’s discovery of string topology operations. I will discuss how Chen connections can be used to describe the Chas-Sullivan string bracket of loops based on a prervious work with H. Abbaspour. I will then talk about how the discussion should be enriched to accommodate other string operations beyond the bracket. This is an ongoing joint work with Gregory Ginot.
