Topological contact dynamics and two applications

Abstract: The smooth dynamics of a contact structure admits a non-trivial extension to topological dynamics. We will discuss a key result in the subject, namely the 1-1 correspondence between topological contact isotopies (and their conformal factors) and their generating topological contact Hamiltonians, and two applications: topological rigidity of the geodesic flow on riemannian manifolds and the extension of the helicity invariant to topological dynamics.
