The adjoint representation of a Lie algebroid

Abstract: One of the difficulties with the theory of Lie algebroids has been the lack of a natural notion of adjoint representation. Various notions of "representations up to homotopy" have been defined, but they require the choice of a connection. I will describe a supergeometric model for the adjoint representation that is both canonical and geometrically intuitive. I will explain how this model relates to deformation theory and secondary characteristic classes for Lie algebroids.
