Derived bracket and quantization

Abstract: There exist two canonical types of brackets: (i) the Poisson bracket on a symplectic manifold, and (ii) the commutator of differential operators. Numerous brackets can be described as derived brackets of these two canonical ones. We relate both decriptions via geometric and Weyl quantizations, in particular for the Courant bracket. Along the way, we provide a new definition of the Dirac generating operators introduced by Alekseev & Xu, and recover the characterization of Lie bialgebroids obtained by Chen & StiÃ©non.
